The Dutch Blender Foundation has a 4K version of its famous Big Buck Bunny animation. Also, a 3D version made available. The clips are commonly used in hardware tests.

The first versions of Big Buck Bunny, an animation created with the powerful 3D graphics and animation package Blender, came out in 2008 and served as a showcase for the software. The animated video was available to 1080p resolutions and should be freely distributed. A part of the required “render-time” for the video was obtained over the processors of volunteers.

Meanwhile, the Blender Foundation, Blender Software develops and publishes two new versions of Big Buck Bunny released . The clip, which was created by Janus B. Kristensen, is now available in 4K resolution. It is chosen for a refresh rate of 60fps, making the video itself shows well suited for testing the playability of hardware with potential 4k playback functionality. The original version had a frame rate of 24fps. Furthermore, the Blender Foundation released a 3D version of Big Buck Bunny.
