Find a Question:
BLIZZARD HAS CANCELED ITS NEW MMO-GAME AFTER 7 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT
Rumors about the next after the World of Warcraft MMO-legendary game company Blizzard went for a few years. Project had the codename Titan , likely because of its enormous scale and production costs. But, as it turned out, the developer turned its development, despite the fact that she had spent more than 7 years.
Even last year, fans of Blizzard studio was a rumor that the developer has suspended development MMO-Game Titan and returned to the stage to rethink the project. And yesterday, in an interview with game portal Polygon co-founder and president of the studio Mike Morheym Blizzard officially announced that the project is canceled.
“We have created a World of Warcraft and felt that well versed in the genre of MMO. In the case of the next game studio has set an incredibly ambitious goals, and we just did not turn out to achieve them. ”
It turns out that the studio Blizzard overestimated their capabilities and not simply pulled such a massive multi-user project. And although it never officially announced, had to cancel its still before the fans were shown at least some achievements in the game.
“We are not happy that we did. There was no passion in the design. We were discussing how we can rethink or to revive the project, but have not found a suitable solution to the problem. Was this a game we really wanted to release? The answer is – no. ”
Head Blizzard does not consider the abolition of the Titan weakness studio, on the contrary – it can be perceived as a force. Having spent so much money, time and effort, the studio took a willful decision only because the product did not conform to the highest quality, which are known for other game publishers, including Diablo III and StarCraft 2. Let us recall that earlier studio Blizzard have already had to close quite promising projects like Warcraft Adventures or StarCraft Ghost.
At the moment, the studio took a step back and still reflects on the development of what is now the game should be released to redirect resources. No one argues that in the future we will not see the new MMO-games from Blizzard, but whether quickened project Titan? I doubt very much.Viewing:-185
