BQ taking pre-orders for Ubuntu phone Aquaris E5




The Spanish manufacturer BQ Tuesday began accepting pre-orders for its latest Ubuntu phone, the Aquaris E5 HD. The phone rings for about two hundred euros including VAT over the counter.

It appears from a Web page put online by BQ Tuesday. Then to order the latest Ubuntu machine from the European Union, Norway and Switzerland. The orders are incidentally not yet been processed; that happens expected from June 22nd.

Completely new is the Aquaris E5, because there is the same device already an Android equivalent. The specifications are then also substantially equal. As the phone has a 5 “-hd screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Under the hood, the E5 runs further on a quad -Cortex A7 soc 400MP2 and Mali GPU. Finally, the device has 16GB EMMC flash storage, a micro SD card slot and 1GB ram.

Unlike the Android version of the latest Aquaris features Canonical’s Ubuntu operating system. Who revealed the British software manufacturer about two years ago. Canonical wants to the OS group content from various sources and display clearly on pages, such as a combination of videos from the phone, YouTube and Vimeo. Recently published another major software update which includes an improved browser.

BQ has been providing more phones with Ubuntu as the Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition . This is an entry level quad-core Cortex-A7 soc, 8GB of storage, a micro SD slot and a 4.5 “screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. The casing of the phone, which opened by anyone buy is , consists entirely of black plastic.
