Find a Question:
Brit wants throughout Britain traverse in Fr on exercise bike
Brit Aaron Puzey summed up in May on the plan to cycle around the island Great Britain with only an exercise bike, a Samsung Gear VR, a Bluetooth cadence sensor data from Google Maps and Street View and the Unity engine.
Britain cycle ride Fr Because there is no ready-made system was available to be boring bike rides to cheer on the exercise bike with virtual reality, Puzey decided to build it yourself. The ultimate goal of his homemade Fri app is all over the British Isles cycling from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland.
Puzey had to overcome some obstacles to ensure that the panoramic images from Google Street View not staggered in an irritating way because, as he writes on his developer blog, the Street View data is approximately stored every four meters and you thereby as it were by ‘panoramic bubbles’ jumps. That would not be a pleasant way of cycling. Fortunately, there was an on GitHub project Streetview Explorer Paul Wagener a viewer the opportunity passes freely through the Street View imagery to go smoothly.
Another obstacle has been the use of the Unity engine. The data of the images come into eight parts, and within which are to be joined together again for the final display. At Unity caused constant breaks in between, but this was solved by any data to explain the range of load to scratch, what is ten minutes take bikes for a distance of thirty minutes.
He says in one of his videos that he has very little motion sickness as he cycles, much less than if it moves with the VR goggles without being physically engaged.
It seems a logical form of vr for the foreseeable future. Of course there are still some improvements to make to his application, such as adding the possibility to cycle backwards, the number of kilometers left to display, investigate whether it is possible to give hogeresolutietextures again stopped, add a bike model and view a live map image on the steering wheel.
Puzey not think anyone wants to use afterwards the VR headset yet because it is quite sweaty, he said around 11:48 in the video. He makes videos of the ‘highlights’ of every 100 kilometer it travels:Viewing:-83
