Open Works Engineering develops Skywall 100, a device that fired projectiles can be to intercept drones. The projectiles contain a grid that drones are caught, a parachute is optional.

The Skywall 100 has a range of one hundred meters, weighs about 10kg, and makes use of a gas compressor and to shoot projectiles. The device, according to the creators put a smart scope ‘and a built-in computer to get a lock on flying or floating drones. The Skywall beeps if the target is in focus and after pulling the trigger is fired an “intelligent” missile.

Many details give Open Works not on the system, which now seems to be mainly a proof of concept. In the demonstration video creators show how a drone can be brought down with a projectile which is provided with a net and a parachute. Which parachute is optional and ensures that the captured drone somewhat remains intact, or that the projectile can be reused after a mis-hit. Further, according to the makers can also be a projectile fired from ECM -jammer. That, however, is not demonstrated in the video.

What costs the system is not known, but the authors say it before the end of the year to provide interested parties. Earlier it was a ‘interception drone in Tokyo demonstrated that can catch with a net other drones. The Dutch police are experimenting with the use of raptors to intercept drones.
