British police arrest third suspect in TalkTalk hack




British police have arrested a third suspect who is suspected of involvement in the hacking of the phone service provider TalkTalk. It is namely a twenty-year man from the English Staffordshire, as the London police said.

It reports news agency Reuters on the basis of a police statement. It is not known why the twenty man accused in the TalkTalk case; The police is investigating on his home address in order to gather evidence for his involvement in the hack. Meanwhile, the man is held in Staffordshire. British police did not give any details about the progress of the investigation.

It is the third suspect whose involvement is suspected in hacking the British telecoms provider TalkTalk. Previously was a fifteen-year-old Northern Irishman has already been arrested and shortly after a sixteen-year-old Englishman. Both are however still released after paying a bail. It is not known whether the three suspects know each other.

When the hack whose TalkTalk fell victim to the data of approximately 20,000 customers stolen. This involves possible data like phone numbers, email addresses and bank details. The perpetrators could face imprisonment. Meanwhile, TalkTalk has to answer about the security of its servers: if the company was negligent, the authorities may impose a fine of up to 700,000 euros. Probably a part of the data was unencrypted.
