Find a Question:
Building Hyperloop test track takes serious forms
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, created by Elon Musk, has announced a partnership with Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum and design, design, construction and financing company Aecom. Both companies provide their expertise in exchange for shares of Hyperloop.
The idea around the Hyperloop dating from August 2013 and is the brainchild of inventor and entrepreneur Elon Musk. The goal is the first test version of some 8 kilometers in 2016 having worked in the Los Angeles area.
The invention is a transport system that cities in the medium distance should connect. The system of pipes similar to the old-fashioned tube station in combination with high-speed trains. The capsules are moved electromagnetically in the tube. Because of the tube to withdraw almost vacuum, and thus to provide a very low air pressure of about 100 pascal, the energy needed for the propulsion is relatively low. As a result, must be able to be achieved speeds of up to 1220 kilometers per hour.
Elon Musk himself had no time for the development and surrounding the publication of the idea in 2013 was also the JumpStart Fund was established. This crowdsourcing fund is intended for ambitious projects. From JumpStart Fund came Hyperloop Transportation Technologies continues.
With the new partners must build a working test circuit in 2016 are feasible. Swiss Oerlikon is a famous name in the world of companies from evacuating their core business made. The company worked with others at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The main development Carl Brockmeyer of Oerlikon says to Wired that he does not think there are many hurdles to take in comparison with technologies that are already there. “Technically, it’s not a challenge. We are used to much more demanding applications,” said Brock Meyer.
The energy to let things ride and pulling vacuum must come from solar panels and wind turbines that will build HTT. Aecom will especially help with the construction project itself in the Quay Valley between Los Angeles and San Francisco.Viewing:-151
