BYD is working on a 11.6-inch tablet with the new Bay Trail processor from Intel, and a keyboard that is similar to the type of surface cover series.

BYD Bay Trail Tablet
Computex Taipei is still running and the Intel booth today I am met with a pretty interesting tablet of BYD, which, however, still has no name. There are two features that make the tablet so interesting. On the one plugged into the device, the new BYD Bay Trail processor from Intel. For the tablet, there are also a keyboard that looks very similar to the Type Cover for Surface Pro.

With its 11.6 inch tablet that BYD is slightly larger than the Surface Pro but has 1366 × 768 pixels with a lower resolution. In the built-Bay Trail processor is a quad-core chip which is clocked at 1.6 GHz. This is supported by 4GB of memory. With regard to the internal memory, there will be various options that are yet to decide final.

Currently is the battery life of the tablet despite the BYD Bay Trail chip are only good for 5 hours at constant video playback. However, being targeted 10 hours, if Intel has optimized the drivers for Bay Trail accordingly. In this range, the battery life of most tablets with Bay Trail should be about September then.

On the back of the BYD tablet has a built-in stand, which is, however, significantly smaller and not quite as stable as the Surface Pro. Available for the tablet keyboard is fine, but does not feel quite as high quality as the cover model from Microsoft.
