C900 Matrox graphics card can drive nine screens




Matrox introduces a single-slot graphics card that nine screens with a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 pixels can be controlled simultaneously. The GPU can be used for video walls.

Matrox C900 is a PCIe 3.0 card that fits into a single slot and has 4GB of GDDR5 memory. According to the specifications Matrox uses a GPU from AMD, but what exactly is not known. There are nine micro HDMI outputs available which as many screens with a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 pixels each can be connected.

According Matrox C900 is the first graphics card that makes it possible to control nine full-HD monitors with a GPU of this size. AMD released earlier or Eyefinity 6 card with six mini-display ports and PowerColor worked ever HD 5970 with twelve terminals, but also had a dual-GPU card.

Matrox praises his video card to drive video walls with an array of 3×3 displays. It is also possible to create other configurations such as 9×1 and C900 by combining two graphics cards in a system up to 18 screens can be controlled.

The manufacturer delivers the card with his PowerDesk software for Windows. Drivers are available for Windows 7 to 10, 2008, and Windows Server 2012 and Linux. In the second quarter of 2016, Matrox C900 should be available. The manufacturer has not published retail price yet.
