Find a Question:
Canon is working on 250-megapixel sensor APS-H-size
Canon has a CMOS sensor in APS-H format announced with a resolution of 19.580×12.600 pixels. When used in a camera, the sensor 250-megapixel video capture at 5fps.
The APS-H sensor measures 29.2 by 20,2mm. According to Canon involves the largest number of pixels in a CMOS sensor to date. There are sensors that can capture higher resolution, for example, but then it comes to larger full-frame sensors. When CMOS sensors provides the increase of the number of pixels for timing problems, and signal delay, due to the increased volume of signals.
The sensor developed by Canon, however, achieves read speeds of 1.25 billion pixels per second, according to the manufacturer. Canon offers no details have succeeded except that this is due to “extensive miniaturization and improved technology for signal processing.
The sensor is able to capture images at distance with great detail. Canon gives the example of a plane that was flying at 18 km altitude, with letters on the device readable could be visualized. The sensor is temporarily not for consumer cameras. The group thinks of processing in products for niche markets, such as surveillance systems, measuring instruments and other industrial equipment.
In 2010 knew Canon incidentally developing an APS-H sensor with approximately 120 million pixels.Viewing:-176
