Catching Meltan in Pokémon Go requires integration

with Let’s Go games
The Pokémon Company has released more information about the new Pokémon Meltan and how it can be captured. This requires players to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Let’s Go: Eevee for the Nintendo Switch.

In a message , The Pokémon Company shows that players need a mystery box to catch a Meltan. The box seems to work like a lure, which attracts more Pokémon for half an hour to the player’s location. The Meltan that appear, can only be seen by the player who opened the box.

Only one box can be used at a time and it closes after half an hour. To reopen it, players will have to send a Pokémon to a Switch with Let’s Go: Pikachu or Let’s Go: Eevee. It does not have to be their own console or game. Meltan remain exclusive to Pokémon Go, meaning they can not be caught in Let’s Go games.

The new Pokémon can already be seen in Pokémon Go since mid-September. If players catch him, it actually turns out to be a Ditto, which has been changed in shape. The teaser that came out on October 10, hinted that Meltan also has an evolution. What exactly is needed to evolve it is not yet known. Recently it was announced that Pokémon from the Sinnoh region will be added . An appearance date of the update will follow.
