CCP Games is working again actively Eve Online television

The Icelandic company CCP Games is working on a television series of almost thirteen year old title game Eve Online. The company works together with the production company of director Ridley Scott, known from the Alien series and the later prequel Prometheus.

EVE Online CCP Games CEO Veigar Pétursson confirms opposite Wired confirms that active work is being done to create a television series. Besides Ridley Scott’s company is then worked with the Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur, whose producer was involved in the film and the series Trapped Everest.

There were plans for a series since 2013, but they were pushed into the background as CCP Games, the emphasis placed on the development of the game itself and the VR version Valkyrie. This game is one of the launch -games of the Oculus Rift. But now there seems again of progress on the matter, writes Wired.

There are, according Pétursson no plans to make a film, because the history of the game is far too extensive to pour in that form. “Eve was just as great as Game of Thrones, and you could not make a film about Game of Thrones,” he explains. He adds that the intention is to use events from the history of the game as the basis for the series.

The history of the various wars in the game was recently established by former Wired writer Andrew Green in a book entitled “Empires of Eve.” The MMORPG is regularly in the news following major battles, with thousands of euros inflate virtual spacecraft. Also, the game is known for its impressive trailers .
