CDA proposes stricter rules for drones after almost incident at Schiphol Airport

CDA MP Martijn van Helvert believes that there should be stricter rules for flying with drones. Recently there was an incident with a drone at Schiphol and according to Helvert is “waiting for a wrong time.”

The politician made ​​his remarks in front of RTL Nieuws. On Monday he will send requests to the Cabinet and he will ask on behalf of the CDA for action in the field of drones. Stricter rules should prevent hazardous situations. The MP also wants to organize a campaign to make people aware of the rules on the fly drones. The current rules should be enforced more strictly, said the CDA politician.

Helvert of reacting to an emergency with a drone, last Friday at Schiphol Airport. A drone flew right past three planes trying to land on the Zwanenburgbaan. After warnings from the pilots is the job then closed. Although there were no accidents, the wait according to Helvert to go wrong once, making stricter rules are needed.

It is not the first time that a drone annoying in the way of flying at an airport. Among others in France were recently a dangerous situation when a drone few meters along a plane of Air France clipped.
