CeBIT: i.onik 9.7-inch Android Jelly Bean Tablet Hands-on

With the 9.7-inch Android tablet from Jelly Bean i.onik – daughter of CnMemory (Chips and More GmbH) – we see at CeBIT a China Tablet, which succeeds not only in the German business, but also with the local service and warranty services will be considered.

The device comes in the dimensions that we have from the Apple iPad to know: 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The operating system we are dealing in this case with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, another update, however, already announced. Of course remains to be seen how quickly that will then take place and if it’s “only” the update will be on 4.1.2, or whether it already has 4.2 in the view.

Next we have a clocked at 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU at the start, with 2 GB RAM and a 16 GB memory, which we can happily extend thanks to microSD card slot yet. This slot is under a flap on the right side of the tablet hidden in the same place we find ports for microUSB and mini HDMI.

The back is made of aluminum and in addition to a mono speaker, we will also find the 3 megapixel cam. With the camera on the front, we do not have any exact information – between 2 megapixels VGA and everything is possible. End of March, the unit is in the German stores – or more precisely, to Media Markt and Saturn – come and costs 279 euros. In my opinion a very fair price for this wireless-only tablet.
