Cegeka wants to build efficient data center Netherlands




The Belgian ICT services provider Cegeka puts 10 million euros in the construction of a Tier 3-certified data center in Sittard-Geleen. According Cegeka data center will be the most economical in the Netherlands due to cooling with outside air and the use of solar panels.

The build data center, which the company ICTroom enabled, will have a capacity of 750kW per module. Each module can accommodate 160 racks. According Cegeka is the most efficient data center in the Netherlands by the use of indirect Air2air-air cooling of the GEA. Cold outside air is used. The company claims that this method of cooling a factor of seven efficient than conventional cooling equipment. The data center will use solar panels to move into daylight less power from the grid.

Because the data center’s Tier 3-certified, the infrastructure must be implemented fully redundant, so that defective parts can be replaced without downtime. Part of the electrical systems from Siemens offer according Cegeka extra high reliability making the availability of the data center at least 99.98 percent is to be located.

Cegeka puts 10 million in the construction of the data center, which should be operational in June 2015. The company says consciously have a location in South Limburg chosen because after the acquisition of Brain Force has received more German and Dutch customers.
