There was … a long running game series that was known outside the country of the developers like The Settlers. There was both a studio in Düsseldorf who ever wanted something different than working on The Settlers, and so the studio invented a ruse. It was quite a cunning ruse: the studio wanted to make a new kind of game and wrapping in an old jacket, namely the famous jacket of The Settlers.

The studio in question is Blue Byte and since 2001 part of Ubisoft. The French publisher is strictly for its German employees. Nearby Blue Byte have experimented a lot to loose before the acquisition, the mag’s new patrons only have to work on the most successful series: The Settlers and Anno. Hence the list. Blue Byte devised a game called The Settlers: Kingdoms of Anteria, a game that so would fit into the series. However, the concept was slightly different than in the regular games in the series. The emphasis was less on building a city and more on the strategy of fighting.

The game was announced in 2013 and originally was to appear in 2014. However, the feedback on the first tests of the game was not tender. The main criticism was that the game is too much deviated from the formula of the series. Ubisoft decided once again to hold firmly against the light the project. This not only provided the necessary respite, but also led to making the list seems to work. The band with The Settlers is dissected and the game is as Champions of Anteria marketed. Just download and only for Windows, for the reasonable price of 30 euros. Just before BlueByte finalizing the project we might share some innings rotate into the game.
