Chinese manufacturer makes thinnest smartphone so far with thickness of 5mm




The Chinese manufacturer Gionee is an Android smartphone release with a thickness of 5mm. This is the thinnest smartphone which has so far been published. The thinnest smartphone available now, also Gionee, eLife the S5.5.

The Chinese manufacturer makes the device for its home market, as can be deduced from the approval of the Chinese inspection body Tenaa that Engadget remarked : The device supports 4G, but only with the usual in China TD-LTE standard.

The phone is 14×6,7cm large and has a 4.8 “screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It runs on Android 4.3 and has a memory of 1GB in size, while the storage memory is 16GB. The phone runs an unknown quadcore- processor. The phone has a 2050mAh battery.

Gionee is already the manufacturer with the thinnest smartphone on the market, the eLife S5.5 with a thickness of 5.5mm. Huawei’s Ascend P6 is the hitherto thinnest smartphone which is also in Dutch shops, with a thickness of 6,18mm. Many current phones have a thickness of between 7 and 10mm.
