Cisco’s cloud security firm Cloud Lock for about 293 million dollars, converted now about 265 million euros. Cloud Lock is a so-called cloud access security broker that provides security between cloud services companies and their own infrastructure.

Cloud Lock logo If CASB Cloud Lock ensures the traffic between the local IT infrastructure of enterprises and the information processed by cloud services. The importance of CASB consists of the ability to provide extensive information on the use of cloud applications over different platforms and the ability to detect unauthorized use. Lock cloud instance can support organizations in the transfer of documents to services such as Google Docs or Microsoft Office 365.

Cisco sees cloud Lock as a valuable addition to its portfolio, now more and more companies switch to externally mounted network instead of locally controlled infrastructure. Team Cloud Lock is combined with Cisco’s Networking and Security Business Group. The objective is the acquisition to have around in the first quarter of 2017.
