Colored electronic ink
Last fall, there was an exhibition in Berlin, IFA 2012, PocketBook which the company introduced two new models of e-readers – Basic New and SURFpad. In addition, on the sidelines of the company showed another model that has not even have its own name. The feature of this reader is that it is set on the basis of color screen ink E-Ink Triton second-generation lighting – the world’s first such device.
Until now, the market is not mass-produced models with the screen, although rumors have been around for a long time. Have been released except that a few test devices. PocketBook company said that sales of its new reader with a color screen E-Ink Triton second generation will begin in the summer – in June 2013. Some details about this gadget.
The screen in the new reader has a diagonal of 8 inches and a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels – these settings are enough for comfortable viewing of text or images. The number of displayed colors here – 4096, and a big step forward in the black-and-white E-Ink-displays did not exceed 16. Of course, at this screen is much nicer to look at photos or open web pages. We add that the color screen E-Ink Triton is a second-generation capacitive touchscreen, it also supports the function “multi-touch” – recognition of simultaneous multi-finger touch.
Another significant difference PocketBook models with screen E-Ink Triton second generation of black-and-white screens is to have built-in lights – now you can use the reader and in the absence of external light. The brightness can be adjusted “one-touch”: for this at the top of the front of the reader, directly above the screen, there is a special touch strip.
Needless to say that with the advent of color screen E-Ink Triton second generation has not become less safe for the view than his black-and-white predecessors – there is also no flicker, which leads to premature fatigue and strain on the eyes. Because the display consumes battery power only when changing the image, the battery life will be about a month reader – and this despite the presence of a color screen!
A significant advantage of the reader with a color screen E-Ink Triton second generation will be that they can be much more conveniently used as school textbooks, because the perception of information in color is easier – for example, maps or drawings in the biology textbook.
As mentioned above, in the market reader with a color screen E-Ink Triton second generation company PocketBook scheduled for June 2013.Viewing:-151
