The volume of spending on ICT services in Saudi Arabia
The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudi Arabia today released its latest quarterly bulletin for 2017, which monitors the most important developments in the ICT sector. The volume of ICT spending is estimated at SR 136 billion by 2017, While the sector’s direct and indirect contribution to GDP was about 6 percent and 10 percent in non-oil GDP, in return for large investments from the government and private sectors.

The TRA revealed total mobile subscriptions to 40 million subscribers, of which 75 per cent were pre-paid and mobile penetration was around 127 per cent.
The number of subscribers to mobile broadband services rose to about 30 million subscribers and an estimated 25 percent growth from the previous year, while the number of Internet users rose to about 26 million with a prevalence rate of 82 percent.
