Company wants to release Android tablet with E-Ink screen




Chinese company Dasung is planning to release a 7.8 “tablet with an E-Ink screen, which should be named” Not eReader “but intended for reading e-books, in addition to the playing video and functioning as a tablet.

Dasung shows in a preview the playing of video on the ‘Not eReader’ and has put an IndieGogo page online, for future crowdfunding. The 7.8 “device E-Ink screen has a pixel density of 300ppi, an unnamed quad-core processor, 2GB of ram and 64GB of storage.The tablet runs Android 6.0, although Dasung shows an image with Windows 10 on it.

According to the manufacturer, the ‘Not eReader’ has five applications. In addition to tablet, e-reader and video player, the device must be able to be used as a monitor for smartphones and as a monitor for PCs. Dasung previously managed to get a 13.3 “monitor with E-Ink screen financed via IndieGogo, the advantage of which, according to the company, was that there was no backlight, which would be better for the eyes of the user.

Which price Dasung wants to ask for the device is not yet known.
