CompuLab builds compact MintBox Mini AMD A4 APU




The company CompuLab announced along with the Linux Mint team MintBox the Mini. In the mini-PC is to find an AMD 6400T-A4 APU, along with 4GB of RAM and a SSD with a storage capacity of 64GB.

The fanless MintBox Mini with its thickness of 2,4cm and a volume of 0.22 liter three times smaller than the Intel NUC and five times smaller than the previous MintBox, says CompuLab. AMD 6400T-A4 APU is assisted by an R3 Radeon GPU. Also, the mini PC features 4GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD.

The device has three USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 connectors. Also, two HDMI outputs are included so that a dual-monitor setup is possible. Furthermore MintBox Mini includes a combined analog audio out / input and a microSD card reader. For laying wifi connections is an 802.11n module built in and there is an Ethernet port.

It is unclear whether the cabinet has bluetooth; The Linux Mint team promises soon with more details and to get benchmark results. The manufacturer already states that the mini PC is twice faster than the MintBox Pro that came on the market in 2012.

The MintBox Mini gets a price tag of 295 euros. A portion of the proceeds go to the Linux Mint team. Five-year warranty is given on the mini-PC. In the second quarter of this year MintBox Mini to come on the market.
