Cooler Master and Dutch company make fans quieter thanks to sound camera




Cooler Master has teamed up with the Dutch start-up Sorama. This company has developed a sound camera that was used to bring the sound properties of two Cooler Master coolers map. The manufacturer will make them quieter.

Coolermaster fan Soroma equation Sorama describes his sound camera as a kind of heat camera for sound. The company measures sound with a MEMS microphone array in a few inches of the sound-producing object. The array measures the sound in detail and make a 3D visualization accordingly.

The images can give an insight in accordance with the start-up in sound leakage, vibration and inadvertent transmission of sound from all the products or parts thereof. Cooler Master has been so let two of his cpu coolers measure. In addition, a complete system, including housing, mapped with the sound camera. Cooler Master and Sorama have after analyzing improvements devised for the next generation of Cooler Master products. When this is to appear is not known.

Sorama is a company based in Eindhoven, which was founded in 2009 by Rick Scholte. He did research on Near-field Acoustic Holography at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Eindhoven.
