Cooler Master Announces CM Storm Sentinel mouse with OLED screen




Cooler Master Sentinel III added to its CM Storm series of products for gamers. The mouse has high-end with respect to its predecessors, a new sensor and more memory. Also, there is an OLED display that can display, among other things, the dpi.

The palm grip is designed for righties and housing, according to the manufacturer’s slightly larger than normal, with a support for the pinky and thumb. Almost the entire mouse is equipped with a matte, rubberised coating, which should provide a good grip, made only a small portion of the top layer of reflective plastic. The Sentinel III has eight buttons: left and right, the scroll wheel with small buttons it and beside it, and side buttons. Using the Storm Tactix component of Cooler Master’s bundled software are additional functions to assign the buttons.

Cooler Master is the third version of the Sentinel uses the Avago 3988 optical sensor, which provides a sensitivity of 6400dpi. The user would be able to easily switch from this sensitivity to 400, 1200 or 4000dpi. The Sentinel III has support for five macros that can be adjusted with the software. Under a cover on the bottom Cooler Master has placed cutouts for five weights of 4.5 grams each.

In the middle of the mouse is an OLED screen to display the dpi quantity, with a separate compartment with a resolution of 32×32 pixels to display a custom logo. Around it, the manufacturer has placed LEDs and the user has the choice of illumination 16.8 million colors. Inside does an ARM-soc in combination with 512KB memory his work when switching between macros and adjusting the lighting. Dimensions are 135×83,6x40mm and the weight is 155 grams. The length of the cable with USB 2.0 connector is 1.8 meters.

Cooler Master provides the mouse from 1 December for a suggested retail price of 59.90 euros.
