Cortana brings notifications of Android phones to Windows 10

Cortana, the digital assistant from Microsoft, brings this summer notifications of Android phones to PCs with Windows 10. Thus users can see messages on their phone, and reply from behind their PC.

Microsoft discussed the function on its own Build developer conference in a session on changes to the Action Center, the notification center on Windows 10, writes tech site The Verge. The function to view notifications of Android phones through Cortana comes from Action Center In The Cloud, a way to store all notifications online and thus to manage from multiple devices. Thereby working the removal of a notification from the PC also to remove it from the phone.

It works on Android and Windows Mobile 10, but by restrictions that Apple does not impose on iOS. It is not the first time that users of Android phones notifications can see on their Windows PC. Among other apps like Push Bullet possible that for some years. It is the first time that it is ingrained in a service of Microsoft itself.

Besides the function to manage alerts, Action Center will also have a custom interface, including large images in notifiicaties and logos of apps in the header. Those changes will be visible in the interface for Windows 10 mobile.
