CyanogenMod 10.2 RC1

CyanogenMod logo (75 pix) CyanogenMod is an open source operating system for smartphones and tablets. It is based on a bare version of Android and adds additional functionality, including root access, shortcuts in the notification bar, an extensive lockscreen and different themes for the interface. Furthermore, there are often performance improvements to be taken with respect to the software which is a manufacturer’s own flour evert true.

CyanogenMod Version 10.2 is based on Android version 4.3.1 and is still in development. Almost daily there are unofficial builds out, also called nightlies, but these are not always stable. To improve this, once every few weeks, a code freeze is set so that a more stable build than average may be available shortly thereafter. After the first Milestone build of CyanogenMod 10.2 a month ago, earlier this week, the first release candidates become available.
