CZ950 Panasonic OLED TV Preview – Finally a successor for plasma
Panasonic was once the plasma brand par excellence. Because this display technique can not easily let scaling to higher resolutions than HD, the Japanese TV manufacturer stopped with plasma. Thus there was a big hole in the TV offerings from Panasonic, because plasma has a large loyal following. The main reasons why many people chose plasma over LCD is the good representation of movement, but more importantly because of the much better blacks.
Panasonic saw in the OLED technology a worthy successor, because of the better display of black and color reproduction can be improved significantly with this technique. Behind the scenes the manufacturer years it was working on the development of the technique that is required to make large in OLED panels for televisions.
