Data stolen 4.5 million hospital patients by Heart Bleed-bug ‘

According to a source from Bloomberg, however, the hackers, who would be coming from China Heart Bleed -bug used to log into the systems of the hospital chain.
The message from the source is confirmed by TrustedSec security, which relies on three of its own resources. The hospital and the FBI, which is investigating the hack, do not indicate how the attackers came in.
During the attack some data from 4.5 million patients were stolen. It concerns include the social security number, similar to and just as susceptible to fraud as the Dutch bsn number, as well as names and addresses. Financial and medical data are not captured, says the hospital.
It is the first known time that a hack comes to light with the Heart Bleed bug in practice has been abused. The hack was carried out a week after the bug came to light in April. The Heart Bleed security problem causes parts of the internal memory of a server allows attackers to read.
