DDoS collectively aimed arrows at Belgian tax site




The Belgian DDoS collective Down-Sec Wednesday briefly the site of Tax-on-web taken offline. The group confirmed the DDoS attack on Twitter. After about an hour the site of the Belgian tax authorities were back online.

Why Down Sec wanted to flatten the site, said the DDoS group not. The DDoS focused on eservices.minfin.fgov.be , the site of Tax-on-web where Belgians can submit their tax returns. The downtime lasted an hour, is not known whether the attack after declining in power or that the managers of the service that managed to repel.

It is yet another DDoS attack in a series of down-Sec aimed at a public service. Last Sunday, the collective managed to shut down the website of the Senate. When Down-Sec gave as a reason that it was the proposal of Minister of Employment and Economy Kris Peeters CD & V for a working week of 45 hours. The working week is 38 hours. In April, took the police four suspected members of Down-Sec, but the police action seems not to have deterred the collective.
