Team Ninja has announced in the context of the E3 that Dead or Alive 6 will be released in the beginning of 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There are familiar characters in it, but new faces will also be introduced.

IGN, which published a first preview of the game, writes that the new addition to the Dead or Alive series adds more realistic details. For example, characters get out of breath after a few moves and start to sweat. Moreover, injuries that they incur are now also visible. According to producer Yohei Shimbori, the fantasy and science fiction theme of the series remains intact.

The new game also adds a super meter for the first time, which players can charge for example by handing out hits. When the meter is full, players can perform a special attack. With a button pressure is also a so-called Fatal Rush to perform, which amounts to a combo attack. That should make the game more attractive for new players.

Shimbori says that the visual changes also extend to the representation of female characters, who were often overly sexualized in the DoA games. That has now been reduced, among other things by less naked clothing and less emphasis on the body. A teaser site for the game has been created, which states that more information will become available on 11 June.
