Apple has for the second consecutive quarter, recorded a drop in the number of delivered iPhones. Also the last quarter sales were lower than in the same quarter last year. However, Apple sees significant increase revenue from the App Store.

In the last quarter, Apple shipped 40.4 million iPhones. While Apple CEO Tim Cook the release of the iPhone SE successful calls , the number of iPhones sold fell by nearly 15 percent compared to the same quarter last year. This also results in a lower revenue of $ 42.4 billion, while last year was 49.6 billion. The biggest drop in sales is seen by 33 percent in China.

The financial result corresponds to the expectations that Apple announced earlier. According to Apple, the company is doing good business when it comes to services. Revenues resulting increased by 19 percent compared to last year. The company supports include revenue from the App Store under the heading of services.

Apple does not model known how many copies have been sold, but the figures to show that the average price per delivered iPhone was the quarter $ 595. That’s considerably less than the same quarter last year, when an average of $ 660 per iPhone was paid. The decline in the average price seems to show that the cheaper iPhone SE sells.

The number of iPads and Macs delivered decreased compared to the same quarter last year. There were supplied tablets 9.95 million, 9 percent less than last year. Revenues from tablets was 7 percent lower, indicating a higher average selling price and that will be caused by the iPad Pro models. Apple was 4.25 million Macs, 11 percent less than in the comparable quarter last year.

Figures on the Apple Watch does not disclose the company from Cupertino. Is demonstrated by the quarterly figures that revenue from the category ‘other’, including the watch coincides with products like the Apple TV, has fallen by 16 percent.

In April, noted Apple for the first time since the introduction of the iPhone in a decrease in the number of aircraft delivered. It also resulted in the first quarter in thirteen years with falling sales. That this quarter’s figures last year would not be surpassed, was already expected. The decrease is mainly attributed to the saturation of the smartphone market.

Apple expects continues the decline in sales. The company predicts the next quarter to achieve a turnover of 45.5 to $ 47.5 billion. Last year was another $ 51.5 billion. This seems to indicate the iPhone manufacturer that the release of the iPhone 7 can not change the declining supplies. The expectation is that Apple releases new iPhones in the course-September.
