Dell announced a 13.3-inch laptop with 4K-display “from edge to edge”




Dell has announced an updated model of the 13.3-inch notebook XPS 13, which now boasts an ultra-thin frame around the display and super fine screen with a resolution of 3200 × 1800 pixels. Presentation of the new items was held in the framework of CES 2015 in Las Vegas.


Overall dimensions of the Dell XPS 13 is 304 x 200 x 9-15 mm, which makes this model one of the most compact among 13-inch notebooks. Thanks to the “frameless” screen it can easily be taken for 11 or 12-inch modification. Despite this, the notebook comes with a full-size keyboard.

As with the original Dell XPS 13, the number of connectors on the device is small. On the left is the socket for charging ports mini DisplayPort, USB 3.0 and a standard audio input. You can find the right connector lock Noble, another USB 3.0 port and a slot for SD-cards. From wireless options available module Wi-Fi 802.11ac Dual Band 2,4 / 5 GHz 2 × 2 and Bluetooth 4.0.


XPS 13 works with Windows 8.1 and Intel Broadwell processor and equipped with a battery for 15 hours of battery life. Chipset depends on the modification, it can be both Intel Core i3 fifth generation for the basic version and a more powerful solution up to Core i7. The graphics in the XPS 13 built-in Intel HD Graphics 5500. The RAM can be 4 or 8 GB, and acts as a storage capacity of SSD up to 256GB.


Dell XPS 13 will be available in Russia in the first quarter of 2015, but its value is not yet known. In the US, the basic version ultrabook will be offered for $ 800.
