Dell brings four Alienware Steam Machines on the market

Dell introduces its Alienware Steam machinery in the Netherlands. The display shows three different models, all of which feature a custom GeForce GTX GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. The systems run on Steam OS, prices start at 599 euros.

Alienware announced in early 2014, the arrival of his Steam Machines already, but now all the details are known and the machines can be ordered, Dell said in a press release. There appear four variants, all equipped with an Intel Core processor Haswell generation. Alienware chooses the T variants of the CPUs, which have a TDP of 35 watts. There is 4 or 8GB DDR3 memory available.

In the Steam Machine is a custom Nvidia GeForce GTX GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. According to Dell, the GPU performance comparable to a GTX 860m. Storage comes in the form of a HDD of 500GB for the cheapest model, the other three variants is 1TB of storage. There is no solid-state option. The enclosures measure 55x200x200mm and feature ‘AlienFX lighting zones; that the triangle and the alien head. The box weighs 1,81kg and all versions have a 130 Watt power supply on board.

According to the Dell website, the Alienware Steam Machines delivered within 11 to 14 business days. Buyers receive a number of free games, including the GOTY -editie Payday 2. All models are supplied with a Steam Controller.
