Dell introduces Latitude 7000-ultrabooks

Dell has released new Latitude series notebooks in its business. The laptops in the 7000 series are ultrabooks with screen diagonals of 12.5 “and 14”, but for the time being have the low resolution displays with ultrabooks.

The 7000 series was announced back in may, but Dell has the 7440 7240 and only now put in its online store with an estimated delivery time in the last week of August. Both laptops have a display with a rather low resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels; in the future, both models, however, also with fullhd-screens and touchscreentechniek become available. The 7440 is already with fullhd screen available, but doesn’t touch. When fullhd-displays as touchscreen will be available, is not yet known.

Dell Latitude 12 7240

Both ultrabooks have a Haswell-processor, the Intel i5-4200U, on board and combine that with 4 GB of main memory. A loose video card is not available and if default operating system Windows 8 Pro included. The Latitude 7440 is with a 500 GB big hard disk supplied, while the 7240 can be equipped only with a ssd 128 GB. The 12 “-laptop is equipped with a 31wattuur battery and weighs approximately 1.35 km, while the 14”-variant with a 34wattuur battery is equipped and with 1.6 km is slightly heavier. The 7240 is 20 mm thick; the 7440 is 21 mm thick.

Both laptops include three usb 3.0 ports and a Gigabit network connection in their mostly aluminum housing. In addition, audio ports, mini DisplayPort, hdmi connection and docking connector present. The 12 “-Latitude with default configuration costs starting from 22 August about 1102 euros, while the 14”-variant 1136 euro will cost.
