Dell sells software business to investors

Dell Software Group is acquired by investor Francisco Partners and Elliott Management Group. Dell to do the business for security, management and data analysis likely hand to fund the acquisition of EMC.

The total amount of the deal was above two billion dollars. With the acquisition given the two companies include Quest Software and SonicWall in their portfolio. Quest Software and SonicWall have about 180,000 customers together.

Dell paid in 2012, $ 2.4 billion for Quest. SonicWALL was taken around the same time for an undisclosed sum, even if, according to The Wall Street Journal about having located the $ 1.2 billion.

According to Reuters, is one of the reasons of the sales that Dell needs money to pay for the acquisition of EMC. Dell EMC takes about 67 billion dollars and the shareholders of EMC since July 19 prominent agree. An interesting detail is that one of the main investors in EMC Elliott Management Group.
