Dell starts selling XPS 13 with Ubuntu Developer Edition in Benelux – update
Dell has begun selling the XPS 13 2015 Developer Edition in the Benelux. The laptop is equipped with Ubuntu 14.04.1 and is intended for developers. In contrast to the Windows variants, there is only a single configuration.
There are few laptops that are equipped standard with Linux, but Dell has done this regularly with Developer Editions of laptops in the past and also for the new XPS 13 does this. The manufacturer bears the small and thin laptop with Ubuntu 14.04.1.
Dell provides a single configuration: with a Core i7-5500U processor, 8GB of memory and an SSD with a storage capacity of 512GB. The 13.3 “screen is 3200×1800 pixels and Developer Edition model features a touchscreen. The delivery starts on April 30, reports the manufacturer at his site and the price is 1299 euros, but that is excluding VAT. With VAT, the price at 1572 euros.
Update 13.15: There is also a cheaper version of the laptop that Dell does not like Developer Edition designates, but which is equipped with Ubuntu. It features a fullhd screen, Core i5-5200U and SSD of 256GB. The price of this model is 1029 Euro including VAT.Viewing:-188
