Deployed mobile platform Google Android 4.4 KitKat.

It is noteworthy that the Venue 8 7840 the first among mobile devices got futuristic technology Intel RealSense, allows you to scan objects of the world to get their three-dimensional digital copies suitable for output on 3D-printer, and change the camera to focus after the shooting.
