The first descendant of the Doom series, released in 1993, has received a new level. This was created by John Romero, who was also involved in the development of the original. In the future there will probably be more new content.

Those interested in the new Doom content can download the necessary files via Dropbox, so let Romero know in a message on Twitter. Who it wants to work must know how .wad files works; this are instructions on Doom Wiki page. The new level created by Romero called Tech Gone Bad and replaces the original battle with the final boss.

Romero had previously announced that the project is a ‘warm up’. He did not know what is meant by that statement, but it is likely that over time there are more new Doom content is released. The game came out in 1993, and Romero states that since 1995 he has made no new content for Doom.

While Romero is busy creating content for the original edition of Doom, this year there must also come a whole new game in the series. Developer Bethesda is working with a testing phase which gamers could give up sooner. An exact release date is not yet known, but it is clear that there are versions for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox coming One.
