Developer install Windows 10 on unsupported smartphones




A developer has found a way to install Windows 10 on Windows Phone smartphones that are not yet supported by Microsoft. Interested parties need to install an app and a custom root certificate.

Microsoft Windows 9 A guide to unsupported devices equipped with Windows 10 is published on the forum of XDA Developers. The trick developed by Rusty Grom user works with Core Fiddler to intercept traffic to Microsoft’s servers. On the user side a specially developed Windows app to be installed, while a custom root certificate must be installed on the smartphone.

According Rusty Grom is the alternative method to install Windows 10 tested the Lumia 1520. Probably it works for other models, but may need minor adjustments. In the forum topic are tricks to succeed the method if problems occur.

The Technical Preview of Windows 10 came out last Thursday for smartphones. For now, the software is only suitable for a limited number of smartphones in the Lumia series. In particular, high-ends mart phones can not install Windows 10 officially yet. According to Microsoft, this has to do with the partition size for the operating system. Which must be modified in some smartphones to make room for Windows 10, and the installer does not yet support it.
