Developer SoundHound app makes searching through voice control

The developer of music recognition app SoundHound has been working for nine years to an app to search by voice control. Hound is available as an app, but also as a platform that developers can integrate into their own apps.

The app Hound is not downloadable yet, but is currently only available for the closed test group, according to an article of Recode on the app. The app must first come to Android and iOS will also appear in later stages.

In the demonstration, the developer uses the app to find a hotel room. In addition, he speaks constantly new criteria, and the application that processes and displays the results. Looking for hotel rooms goes through travel site Expedia and there were a total of about fifty of those services that operate in Hound. It is unclear whether the app will also work outside the United States.

The developer is known for his app SoundHound, which allows users to identify music you like. That app would already have been downloaded some 260 million times.

When Hound comes right out of the test phase, is still unknown. The app has a lot of competition. Among others, Google has its own voice control software, like Apple and Microsoft.
