Development round-up – Iteration # 60
We’re three weeks and more than a hundred tickets, so a good time to do a release again 🙂 Below are the highlights of the sixtieth release since we started with the scrum-development method.
The most noticeable change is likely to display videos in the new listing on the frontpage. Our editorial tap not only novelties, but also makes beautiful video productions, which were illuminated our opinion, too little. Therefore, the editors now have the ability to highlight specific videos within the new listing. It looks something like this:
Featured Videos Featured Videos
We have the size and the color of ‘visited’ links on the frontpage changed a little and the latter also made in the other listings, as the news archive . So you can always see which pages you have already visited.
We have the form to link subjects eg forum topics greatly simplified. Previously you had, in addition to the voter products, the ability to add a mark, serial or tag. Those three separate search fields we have now combined into a single search box, so you do not have to think about the type of the object that you want to link. As associate editors in the same way subject to their content, this is a relief for them 🙂
Tags, linking brands and series Brands, associate series and tags
A number of iterations we have added back all the “Alternatieven’ tab on the product pages. In this iteration, we have added a comparison function there, which you can compare alternatives with the product that you are currently viewing.
Compare alternative products Compare alternative products
A small but useful addition to the scorecards with editorial reviews to the indication of the current price of the product in the peer-reviewed Pricewatch. We showed all the price when published so with the addition of the current price is now to see quickly whether a product may already become cheaper.
Contents in product reviews
With the previous iteration we have added the ability to so-called heading tags – [h1], [h2], [h3] – use in product reviews. With this iteration, we have a built-in feature capable of generating a table of contents on the basis of these tags, which can be, for example, shown at the top in the review. This may be used in the review [toc] tag. The individual items in the table of contents also links to the relevant chapter in the review.
Related videos in video player
Our video player allows you to show related videos after playback video one frame. So far, however, we did not use that feature, but it we have now brought change. After viewing a video, you get a list of other popular videos of the same type. In the next iteration, we will see if we can optimize the list based on category and any product links.Viewing:-120
