Find a Question:
Difficulty bitcoinmining increases by forty percent in thirty days
Statistics show that the difficulty of the minas of bitcoins in the past thirty days, with forty percent increase. The increase seems to be due to the recent opening of a new data center by BitFury in the capital of Georgia.
The 40MW data center makes use of a two-phase system for cooling by immersion. Here, the racks are immersed in Novec, a heat conductive liquid that was 4000 times more efficient than air for cooling purposes. With 250kW per rack containing at 28nm and 16nm ASIC chips produced the data center achieves a power usage effectiveness of 1.02. With the new 16nm chips gets BitFury between 0,055 Giga joules per Hash to 0.07 Giga joules per Hash.
Such a data center can affect the degree of difficulty for minae of bitcoin, because of the increasing rate at which hashes are cracked causing the block difficulty goes up. Namely the difficulty increases every 2016 blocks and this is a central part of the process of the system. The hash rate is at the time of writing around 650 Petahashes per second and in the last few days also increased significantly.
