Digg reader: a quick look inside

Digg reader: a quick look inside

The last days of Google Reader to break. Alternatives we have here enumerated sufficiently. Many solutions to the host itself there. The services currently times I throw like Feedly and the Log Reader into the race. But the former social bookmarking service Digg had known, opened and offers an RSS reader .

Since yesterday the iOS app available ( Android coming soon) and now I could look also at rest with the web interface. And, one does not look much, the functions are currently marginal, so that one is in a few minutes by exploring through. But quite honestly, what do you expect from an RSS reader already? Should be slim, almost reduced to the essentials.

In the first screenshot you see the naked view. Perhaps the line spacing is slightly high, otherwise you can quickly read his feed. Almost what you want, too. View modes, there are only two way. Just the headers or the full view.

Can in the social networks like Facebook or Twitter, of course, also be shared, if you want to share a story.

Posts can be marked for later reading, of course, also recommending possible. In the settings, you can still specify whether you want to receive a daily summary by e-mail, or what are your services for later reading – for example pocket. Also included: the ability to give other people access to feeds that you have recommended (ge-diggt).

Conclusion: a slim reader, to which you can definitely grab, if you are not satisfied with the offered alternatives. For my part I currently stay with Feedly because I find here the integration with my reading apps on both the Android and on the iOS platform. One must not use Feedly apps I use on Android pressing , while the shipowner for use on iOS comes. The latter brings in version 3.2 with the support Feedly.
