Drone Manufacturer DJI and FLIR bring the 2016 Zenuse XT from a module that consists of a FLIR thermal camera and a gimbal and wireless video technology DJI. The module can be used in combination with, such as the drones Inspire 1.

There appear in the first quarter of 2016 two variants of the Zenmuse XT, both use a VOx Uncooled microbolometer FLIR to capture thermal images. There will be a version with resolution of 640×512 pixels and a supposedly cheaper model with resolution of 336×256 pixels.

FLIR offers the camera technique, DJI combine the module with its Zenmuse-gimbal, which allows for stabilization. Furthermore, the wireless video technology of the drone manufacturer makes it possible to view thermal images from the ground.

DJI Zenmuse XT

DJI suggests that Zenmuse XT modules can be used in conjunction with the Inspire one drone by the fire brigade and for agriculture. With the camera heat the fire for example can be detected, whether or irrigated crops should be monitored. For search missions and investigations DJI advises its larger Matrice 100 drone. This has a longer flight time to a maximum of 40 minutes.

Although DJI yet nothing is known about the price of the Zenmuse XT is the FLIR website or pricing information found on loose FLIR Vue Pro camera modules suitable for drones and have similar specifications. These modules are available from $ 1999.
