Drone tilt record weight of 61 kilos




Students from the University of Oslo have developed a drone who has been given a place in the Guinness Book of World Records because of the weight he can lift. The ‘Megacopter’ managed to get 61 kilos of the ground.

The ‘Megacopter is a multicopter consisting of eight interconnected drones, each with six propellers. The multicopter was built by Henning Pedersen and fellow students from the University of Oslo, which put the construction of aluminum and plywood in eighteen months in another.

The Megacopter would in theory 149.9 kilo should be able to lift and to the demonstration on the model received Oslo Science Park 61 kilo of the ground. To get into the Guinness Book of World Records had this weight at least half a minute at least get a meter off the ground. The successful attempt was part of the Norwegian UiO: Experiences project, which promotes engineering and science education in the country.
