Dutch company begins Kickstarter for 5.5 “device with stock Android




The Utrecht company Mana has started a Kickstarter campaign to release a 5.5 “OLED screen smartphone with running stock Android. For a price of 325 euros the company claims to be able to deliver the aircraft from November.

The device is named “Velocity One ‘and according to the company designed because” no other manufacturer offering the same type of device. The phone has 8GB RAM and runs on a Snapdragon 821-SOC Qualcomm. If available, these soc must eventually be replaced by a Snapdragon 823. The memory is 64GB and can be expanded with two SD cards. The housing is made of a combination of aluminum and magnesium.

The Velocity One is also equipped with a double sixteen megapixel Sony sensor on the back and an eight megapixel model on the front. Other features include a 3350mAh battery, wireless charging, quick charge 3.0 and a fingerprint scanner. There is space for two SIM cards and must use the device to all GSM frequencies. In the first instance, the phone is running on Android 6.0 and will be later provided with the most recent version nougat. An unlocked bootloader is also provided.

Mana team has set a goal to get to 17 October, a sum of 300,000 euros. From a contribution of 325 euros backers received a Velocity device, which should be available anywhere in the world. The idea for the device came into being in March 2015 and the project was founded by Mike Bonenkamp.
