Dutch government is considering funding construction speed Internet in rural are

There is perhaps a grant to build connections for high-speed internet in rural areas, where no high-speed Internet is still lying. That says minister Henk Kamp of Economic Affairs in response to questions about the budget debate.

Camp will not immediately provide the subsidy. The minister is waiting for Internet companies to develop initiatives around high-speed internet in rural areas. “The market is the first move. If the market fails to deliver what is needed, then there is a possibility for financial support from regional or local authorities.”

There are around 330,000 households and businesses in the Netherlands that no Internet connection with a download speed of 30Mbit / s or more can get. Kamp thinks among other internet via 4G as a solution. “Among other things, a number of farmers in Flevoland make use of it. We hear that users are satisfied with that. County Zealand operates with a provider of a pilot project to enable wireless internet for recreation.”
