The National Police is working with a company that trains raptors, Guard From Above, to intercept drones with specially trained eagles. In experiments the eagles get the drones to fly in sight for it, grab them and bring them to the ground. “The bird sees the drone as prey and takes it to a safe area, a place where he does not suffer from other birds or humans. Here we use in this project,” said Mark Wiebe, innovation manager of the National Unity of the police.

The police have been working on testing methods that prevent unwanted drone use, such as in areas where trauma helicopters fly over or large crowds. Among others, there are projects to take control of the drones and to intercept them with safety nets. Or the police raptors actually going to use should be decided in a few months after evaluation.
