Dutch pupils and students win first round robot competition in US

Rembrandt’s team, which consists of pupils and students from various Dutch educational institutions, won the regional heat in Florida of the FIRST Robotics Competition in Florida. In the competition robots have to perform different tasks.

According to the Brabants Dagblad has the team Saturday won the finals of the competition and won, after it had previously received an Industrial Design Award for the design of its robot. The competition, organized since 1989, teams of robots to 54kg have to perform different tasks. For example, in a climbing rope, shoot balls and pick up gears, the newspaper writes. Rembrandt’s team was up against 67 other teams.

Heat team consists of students from the Zwijsen College and the College Heerbeeck. In addition, students from the Fontys College and Eindhoven University of Technology is part of the group. The team has been in existence for five years and had so far won a final. With the win the regionals in Florida, the team could move on to the competition from 26 to April 29 takes place in St. Louis
