Dutch site Gamersnet warns that user information is leaked




The Dutch game site Gamersnet leave a message know that had an unknown party access to its database of user information. It stored email addresses, user names and encrypted passwords.

Leak security privacy Gamersnet points out that over the weekend showed that there was access to the database, but it is not yet clear exactly what information was stolen. The site is was not known how secure passwords. The leak would be created in the month of July.

After it became known that data fell into the hands of third parties, the site is taken offline and all users are invited to set their password. Anyone who logs, moreover, will see a message with this communication. The editorial calls Gamersnet members use to also change that same password on other sites.

The site claims that the leak was fixed within a few hours, but that the investigation can take some months. In addition, the site intends to declare and persons who may have information called to share it.
